Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As we move into the second half of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on how proud I am to serve as Chairman of the New Jersey Professional Engineers in Construction (NJPEC). I’m especially grateful to our Officers, our Sustaining Firms, our active members, and our event partners who continue to make NJPEC a thriving professional community.

At NJPEC, we believe that engineers working in construction are at the heart of how New Jersey moves, grows, and connects. Our projects don’t just live in plans and permits—they come to life in bridges, roads, tunnels, and water systems that serve millions every day. The work we do together elevates the profession and strengthens the infrastructure that shapes our state.

One of the most exciting developments this year has been the launch of NJPEC’s new website. Built to better reflect who we are and what we stand for, this platform offers a clearer view into our mission and how engineers and firms can engage, grow, and contribute. It’s a fresh, modern tool that enhances our visibility, honors our contributors, and better connects our members with opportunities, events, and one another.

We’ve continued to grow in other meaningful ways as well. Our technical seminars remain a cornerstone of our professional development efforts, offering PDHs for engineers in NJ, NY, and PA while sparking discussions on best practices, innovations, and emerging standards. I’m proud of the quality and relevance of the presentations our members have helped bring forward. If you haven’t attended one recently, I strongly encourage you to join us—our programming is designed for engineers, by engineers.

Our community also continues to grow—both in numbers and in purpose. The Bonhag Dinner Dance this past spring was not only a celebration of our award recipients, but a true testament to the relationships we’ve built over decades. Our upcoming events are more opportunities to bring together engineers, contractors, state officials, students, and firm leaders to recognize excellence and reinforce the bonds that make this industry unique.

I’d like to give a special thank-you to our Sustaining Firms—your continued investment makes much of this work possible. Your support directly funds our student scholarships, helps underwrite our events, and keeps NJPEC visible and impactful in policy, education, and networking. If your firm is not yet a Sustaining Firm, I hope you’ll consider becoming a sustaining firm contributor</strong of generous and forward-thinking industry leaders.

If you’re already an active member or contributor—thank you. If you’re returning after some time away, welcome back. And if you’re just learning about NJPEC for the first time—there’s a place here for you. This organization thrives because of its people. Let’s keep building something meaningful—together!

With appreciation and purpose,
Sean Kennedy, P.E.
